What should I look out for?

PE Rattan v PVC Rattan – PE is fully weatherproof, PVC is cheaper, not as weatherproof, will crack and go brittle.
Our rattan sets are PE rattan.
Size – check the dimensions, (photos can be deceptive) as this greatly affects the cost. Check the framework thickness, especially the thickness of the armrests.
Our armrests are between 8-11cm wide for aesthetics and extra comfort.
Aluminium frame v steel frame – this one’s a biggy. Steel is 30% cheaper but will rust within 1-2 years in our Irish climate, and leave orange pools of rust water.
All our sets are manufactured with aluminium frames.

Flat packed or pre-assembled- flat packed are 30% cheaper as the shipping costs are greatly reduced.
Ours are all pre-assembled with no joints in our chairs.
Thickness of glass- it stands to reason the thicker the glass, the less likely it is to break.
Our glass is between 5-8mm depending on the table. Also check that your tabletop has rattan underneath,
and not just a glass table top.
Cushion material – is it fade resistant?
Has it undergone special UV treatment?
Is it showerproof?
How thick are the cushions?
What weight is the fabric?
Fabric is usually between 160-320 GSM (grams per square metre) – Our cushion fabric is 300 GSM
polyester, fade resistant, showerproof and UV treated. Cushions are 10cm in thickness.
We have used polyester thread instead of cotton thread as it will last longer – a small point, but….the devil is in the detail!
